Easter JOY!

This Easter Season was one of my favorites! First we had General Conference which I just loved!!! My favorite talk was by Elder Holland on the Savior and His Atonement. He gave me new insight on the Savior's sacrifice that I had never thought about before. My friend Holly sent me a link to a cool video clip that takes from his talk.

Then the next weekend I got to be a part of an amazing experience. My favorite friend Jen and I were invited to be a part of Lex de Azevedo's oratorio called Hosanna. Lex took directly from the King James Bible the story of the last week of the Savior's life and resurrection and composed the most beautiful and amazing music to tell the story. Jen and I were in the antiphonal choir which is basically a back up choir. The soloist were professional singers who had been on broadway, the opera and were soloist for MoTab. Jenny Oaks Baker was the violist which was by far my favorite part of the music. We performed two nights at the First Presbyterian Church in downtown SLC. The experience was powerful, and one I will never forget. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of such beautiful, inspiring, testimony building event. We even had General Authorities attend and Kurt Bestor...so that means I'm kind of famous now :)
I know that it wasn't by chance that I was in this choir. I feel that Heavenly Father gave me this amazing opportunity so that I could deepen my testimony of and love for the Savior and share those feelings with my family and my friends. I am so grateful for Jesus Christ and his Atoning Sacrifice so that I can repent, change and go home to Him!

Hot Tub Wars

Rob and the kids have started a new favorite game called hot tub wars...
so it goes like this. Everyone, except Alex, is in the hot tub. Alex sneaks around and secretly tries to ambush them with snowballs from any angle he can.

The kids (including Rob :)  in the hot tub use this saucer as a shield against incoming snowballs and to gather their own ammunition to retaliate against Alex.

When anyone gets "hit" they call for medic and are quickly revived and repaired with magic kisses from the medic which is usually Owen or Olivia.

It's all fun and games until....the  snow is gone?

Fashion Guy

A couple of days ago I took Owen shopping with me to Old Navy.  I guess the store made quite the impression with him because later that afternoon I told him to get ready for Liam's soccer game and this is what he came up wearing!

Needless to say I was very impressed with his fashion sense and ability to put such a snazzy outfit together ON HIS OWN! and he's only 3! (He's wearing a polo underneath the button down collared-shirt).

When I asked him why he chose those clothes he said, "because of DAD!"
When I told Rob of his response we talked about how Owen must have inherited Rob's near photographic memory and was recreating the looks he saw in Old Navy. He also must have some of Rob's innate fashion sense as well...

So, the next day he got ready for school. When we got in the car to go to preschool, this is what I saw....

I guess his fashion sense needs a little work after all! :)

Last Monday, Gavin asked if he could plan FHE. A little surprised, but pleased I agreed. So, Gavin proceeded to plan the lesson (on families and our individual roles in a family using the Proclamation on the family), make assignments for the scripture, prayers, songs, activity (we wrote letters to someone in the family we loved. Most everyone chose to write to Grandma and Grandpa, but Liam opted to write heart-felt notes to Mom and Dad) and games (ever play Assassin? a favorite at our house!), and even asked if he could make cookies for dessert. Then he invited Owen to help in the cookie making process. Can you say, "Dream come True?" It was a wonderful evening with everyone getting along in an almost weird but magical way. We truly felt the truth of FHE! Thanks Gavin

Happy Birthday Sydney!

We love you Sydney! Happy 16th Birthday !!!!!
